Are Guests Paid to Appear on Dr. Phil?

Similarly, Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan's mom, reportedly earned $50,000 for her appearance. However, the real scandal lies in what was reported last year by The Boston Globe and STAT. These outlets claimed that Dr. Phil and his staff allegedly provided guests with drugs and alcohol to heighten on-screen drama. Todd Herzog, a Survivor winner, shared his harrowing experience from a 2013 episode. Herzog, who was battling addiction, claimed that the staff supplied him with vodka and Xanax in his dressing room before filming. It was evident that he was heavily intoxicated when he appeared on stage.

Greenberg further emphasized, "The STAT article does not fairly or accurately describe the methods of Dr. Phil, the TV show, or its mission to educate millions of viewers about drug and alcohol addiction. The show does not give drugs or alcohol to its guests, and any suggestions to the contrary are baseless nonsense."
