It’s been a decade since John Travolta and Kelly Preston lost their eldest child, Jett Travolta, and the pain of that loss still lingers deeply. In a heartfelt interview with Us Weekly, the iconic 64-year-old actor opened up about the darkest chapter of his life and how the Church of Scientology helped him navigate through it. Travolta admitted that, at the time, he wasn’t sure if he’d make it through.
“Losing Jett was the hardest thing I’ve ever faced,” Travolta said, his voice tinged with emotion. “I honestly didn’t know if I could survive it. It was like a storm that hit me and my family without warning.” Jett tragically passed away at the age of 16 in January 2009 after suffering a seizure while the Travolta family was vacationing in the Bahamas. The Grease star and his then-wife, Kelly, leaned on each other during this devastating period, but Travolta also revealed that the Church of Scientology played a pivotal role in their healing process.

How the Church of Scientology Supported the Travolta Family
Travolta went on to express deep gratitude for the unwavering support provided by the Church of Scientology. “For two years, they were there for us every single day,” he shared. “Without their help, I don’t think I would have made it through that period. They became a lifeline for me and my family.” He emphasized the importance of the church in keeping them grounded during such a tumultuous time. “Our church has been the rock that’s held us together,” Travolta said.
