Every parent knows that "the birds and the bees" conversation is one of those inevitable moments in parenting. Typically, it happens when kids hit their teenage years, but Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard decided to tackle it way earlier. In a candid appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on February 25, the couple revealed they already had this chat with their 5-year-old daughter, Lincoln. And guess what? It all started because Lincoln asked first.
Ellen couldn’t help but laugh when she asked the couple, "You decided to talk to 5-year-old Lincoln about ‘the birds and the bees’?" Kristen, with her signature wit, replied, "Well, she asked." Dax chimed in, sharing how the conversation wasn’t planned. "We didn’t think, 'Oh no, we’ve got to have that talk,'" he joked as the audience erupted in laughter.

It turns out, Lincoln was curious. “She asked, ‘But where do babies come from?’” Kristen recounted. “And we were like—real talk, sit down,” she joked. The couple decided to go straight for the truth, skipping any sugarcoating. “We got right to the action,” Kristen added. “Right to the good part,” she continued, laughing. But Lincoln wasn’t as interested as they expected. “She’s like, ‘I gotta go outside,’ and just left,” Kristen said. Dax added, “Yeah, she bailed. She knows all the organs, but when it got to the actual nuts and bolts of the operation...” Kristen quipped, “We bored her.”
Parenting and Business: A New Adventure
For Kristen and Dax, parenting isn’t just about raising two amazing kids, Lincoln and Delta, who’s 4. It’s also about sharing their experiences with the world. These two lovebirds, who’ve been married since 2013, decided to channel their parenting know-how into a new venture. After years in showbiz, they announced on Instagram that they were launching an affordable baby product line called Hello Bello, exclusively for Walmart.
“A message from MOM&DAD. @kristenanniebell and @daxshepard are here to introduce @hellobello, a line of premium baby products at non-premium prices,” they captioned a video explaining their brand. “Diapers, wipes, lotions, bubble bath, and more. Consider this one less decision to make as a parent. We’re in this together!”

Why Hello Bello?
Kristen and Dax felt the timing was perfect to launch their new business. As seasoned parents, they wanted to share their parenting journey with others. "As a mom of two, I know how beautifully messy parenthood can be, and that’s why we created Hello Bello," Kristen said in a statement. Their line includes 10 products ranging from basics like diapers and wipes to sunscreen and laundry detergent, all available exclusively at Walmart. Prices range from $1.88 to $23.94, ensuring affordability without compromising quality.
Parenting Made Easier
"We know parenting is hard enough as it is," Dax said. "Parents shouldn’t have to choose between what’s good for their baby and good for their budget. That’s why we couldn’t ask for a better exclusive retail partner than Walmart, who is making it possible for us to offer premium products at a non-premium price." Fans are already excited to try out the new line and see how it simplifies life for new parents.
